You can’t use coupons on Free Items. Don’t even know why you’d even try. I’ve heard of zero success stories of coupons working on free items.
If you read the CVS corporate coupon policy it clearly states a coupon is allowed on a free item, “Two coupons may be used on a Buy One, Get One Free promotion as long as it does not exceed the item total.” Probably should research some before saying you “can’t” do something.
