On top of this sale, you’ll also save more than you think with Unilever Products by participating in bathroom recycling! Project Sunlight and Unilever are encouraging people to create a brighter future by not just recycling in your kitchen, but in your bathroom as well. You can do this by recycling your shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion bottles (as well as empty boxes from soap or other cardboard recyclables) after they’re empty instead of just throwing them in the bathroom trash.
One of the easiest ways to do this is to create a decorative box to keep your empty bottles in until you’re ready to recycle them! Here’s a quick tutorial on how to make your own:
- You will need: Empty Cardboard Box (diaper boxes work well), Giftwrap, Adhesive, Tape, Scissors, & Trash Bag
- Step 1: Cut off flaps of the box
- Step 2: Measure paper to cover the box and the flaps of the box (add 2 inches on top of the dimensions of the box so that you have room to fold the paper over the box and flaps) then use your adhesive to cover wrap the box with the paper
- Step 3: Line your bin with a trash bag and place the two longer wrapped flaps at the bottom of the bin. Then take the shorter flaps, tape them together with the wrapped part facing out, and place it in the middle of the box to act as a barrier
- Step 4: Place the recycling box in your bathroom and throw your empty bottles on one side of the box and your cardboard recyclables on the other!
