Heads Up! If you’ve been couponing for any length of time, you’re likely used to using multiple printable coupons from Coupons.com. The idea is simple, you print your allotted two from your own computer, then print from the app on your phone, then you maybe even take over your husband’s computer to snag the last two coupons you need, right? As of October 2016, Coupons.com has been making some big changes to the way you’re able to print coupons.
The Old Method (Two Prints Per Device)
Previously, they required you to download their software to your computer to be able to print coupons. This allowed them to track prints, which is how they enforced coupon printing limits. Many people had issues with this software. If it wasn’t working properly, for example, people would miss out on their prints. In an effort to prevent the software errors, they’re now moving over to their new PrintID system of verification.
The New Method: Cell Phone Verification
In order to print coupons from Coupons.com, you will now use your cell phone number to verify your prints. All of your coupon prints are tied to your phone number, meaning you will no longer be able to print from your computer AND your phone (without multiple cell phone numbers). For the time being, you may be able to skip this option, but it won’t be long until they require this process for everyone.
The Coupons.com site gives a bit of info about this change as well:
“By using the Print Verification method, you will no longer be required to download the Coupon Printer software. When you first want to print or you are prompted to upgrade to the Print Verification method, you simply need to provide your mobile phone number and will receive a one-time verification code via a text message. In addition, you can print your coupons on any printer (wireless or wired connection) using a desktop, laptop, or mobile device. Coupon printing is now fast and easy.”
No cell phone? Don’t worry, they’ve also included a by-pass using your landline as well.
According to the website:
“You can verify your computer with a landline if you call the Coupons.com support team at 1-888-910-1457. A recorded message asks you to leave your name, phone number and email address, and a customer service representative will call you back ‘within one business day’ in the order that requests are received, with your verification code. Once you enter the code, you can print as before without having to go through the verification process again.”
How to Get Your Prints:
Is there a way to get more than two prints per coupon? For now, it seems like you can register all the phones in your house, start with verifying your husband’s phone number, as well as the kids! Unfortunately they’ve also limited this to only major carriers, meaning pre-paid phones are not able to be verified. This includes “pre-packaged prepaid mobile phones from non-major wireless providers such as Tracfone, Net10, Consumer Cellular or any government issued prepaid phones.”
I know, this wasn’t exactly the news you wanted to hear. I’m a little bummed too. But hopefully this helps to clear the air a little! And stay tuned for any more updates! 🙂

Funny because verifying with a phone number is how I have always had to do in order to print two coupons per item.

Actually, when I print off my computer, it asks me how many I want to print and I can select up to 5 copies! But it only lets me print that many one time.
Hi Martha. Coupons each have their own unique code so when you select more than one copy all of the coupons are printing out with the same code. If you use these coupons, it is considered coupon fraud and you can get in a lot of trouble for it. Please only print 1 copy at a time. Hope that helps. 🙂

This is sad because I save a lot using coupons
I hope to see my Tide coupons this month.
