Hey Guys! I won’t be doing my regular shopping video this week, because I have an emergency medical issue with my left eye (keep reading if you are curious what happened and to read “what I’ve learned”). So, I have corneal ulcer from wearing contact lenses extensively. Unfortunately, I’ve had it for two weeks. I’ve ignored it thinking it was gonna go away. I continued to wear contacts… until it got really bad on Friday. That’s when I finally went in to see a doctor. The doctors said I was lucky that the ulcer wasn’t in my line of vision, since the scarring would have affected my vision permanently. I’ve learned a few important lessons from this experience:

• Take care of your health. When something seems to be wrong, don’t ignore it. Without our health we have nothing.
• If you wear contact lenses and your eyes are irritated, take them off immediately. I had the excuse of “I don’t have glasses” and ignored it.
• If you have “extensive wear” contacts (contacts that allow you to sleep in them), either take them off at night or take them off at least once a week to allow at least 4-6 hours of soaking in Disinfectant Contact Solution (and not just saline solution).
• I am in LOVE with GoodRx – I can’t believe I didn’t know about it until now. I’ll do a more extensive post on it, but basically, whenever you are filling any prescription medication – enter the med name into GoodRx, and it’ll show you prices at different stores (allowing you to comparison shop) and gives you a coupon for the lowest price that store will accept. I was able to save $30 on the med I was filling using the coupon.
